A Year

A year ago, we didn’t know COVID-19 existed.

Today, we started public COVID-19 vaccination.

One year. That’s all the time it took us to move from “complete unknown” to “beginning functional immunity” on a novel virus. One. Year.

It’s been a hard year for sure. More 1.6 million dead worldwide, and some of those recovered have long-term side effects. Countless others and their families impacted economically, socially, and mentally. And we’re not out of the woods yet.

But I’ll be damned if I’m not sitting here tonight in awe of what humanity can accomplish when we set our collective will to a task.
